The Pranang Flora House Hotel is situated on the corner of a building on a fairly busy road in Ao Nang, 1 km from the beach. Click here for a map. Its corner location make the lobby and restaurant area light and open, and the lobby has a set of comfy sofa and armchairs on which to have a cup of tea. This is not really a place where visitors will want to spend their days, as there is nothing to do, but if all the visitor is looking for is a cheap, clean place to sleep fairly close to the beach, then it is a good choice.

The rooms are a bit sparsely furnished, very good value and innocuously if not inspiringly decorated. The rooms to the front of the hotels have a great view of the karst buttresses that separate Railay from Ao Nang, but are a little bit noisy, so if you are unaccustomed to any traffic noise when you sleep, probably not a good choice. The rooms at the back are quiet, but have no view.

This clean economy guest-house is located very close to the Goodwill, Harvest House and Oriental guest houses. Whilst all four guest houses are almost identical, this one is by a shade the most attractive of the four, as it is situated on the open-sided corner of a block, so the lobby/breakfast area benefits from light and breeze from 2 directions. Breakfast is not particularly good here, but is OK if you provide the staff with a loaf of bread and ask them to toast it for you in place of the sweet white stuff that they provide. Or, if you book with us, we’ll give you a complimentary loaf of bakery bread on arrival plus, we hope, an unbeatable price.

Alternatively, jump into a tuk tuk and go to either Gift’s, Pam’s or A-One for breakfast. Click here for a map. All the rooms are clean if basic. The bedrooms at the back of the guest house have no view. Those at the front, whilst having a great karst view, suffer a bit, but not excessively, from traffic noise.
