Timber House Resort

Introduction

This resort is only a year old and so is still in very good condition throughout. An architectural oddity and rather uninspiring to look at, the Timber House features hardly any timber in its construction. This is a good resort for families, as there is plenty of green space for children to run around in.

The resort is well located (click here for map), but not as well located as claimed by the hotel’s website, which states that it is located “right in the middle of Ao Nang beach”. Actually, it’s a few hundred metres from Ao Nang beach, and also the same distance from Nopparat Thara beach. This is a great beach for children, as it is very shallow and as at low tide the water recedes a long way out, giving them a huge area to explore. Several small islands become reachable on foot via sand-banks. The resort’s location also puts it within easy walking distance of most of Ao Nang best restaurants, nightlife and amenities,

Restaurant 

We have as yet had no feedback on this new resort’s restaurant. If you have an opinion, please contact us. We ate there once, and had Thai-style fish, which was reasonably good, but not nearly as good as that in Wang Sai Seafood, which is located only 200 metres away. The breakfast here is accompanied by bread that many visitors will find unsatisfactory. If you book through us we’ll deliver a fresh bakery brown or granary loaf to you on arrival, and instruct the staff to slice it for you for breakfast (you’ll have to toast it yourself, like everyone else, though, as the breakfast is buffet-style).

Accoommodation

All of the rooms are in immaculate condition and are tastefully and innocuously furnished and decorated. Don’t expect to be wowed, but it’s highly unlikely you’ll be disappointed by the accommodation here. As with all hotels, some rooms have better views than others. If you book with us we’ll pop over and make sure you get the best possible room, at we hope an unbeatable price. Our office is only 1 minute’s bike ride away, so we can offer this service, which no other company offers, completely free of charge.
